Post-graduation was the first incident that entailed me to stay away from home and face the life. And was also afraid of the upcoming academic flood (Although i got selected in this prestigious college, but had never got even a first class in my earlier academics, and in fact my father was not sure about my selection and asked me to double check the selection list for whether it was a printing mistake or i made a stupid mistake to think of myself being one of the chosen ones!)
It was the very first day in the hostel i stayed in. I shared my room with another guy from faridabad who also reached there that same day. We had taken the lunch, and were lying there relaxing with a mild talk about all sorts of gibberish. And that was the moment when THE SUBJECT entered.
Bond... James Bond (no, he didn't say so, the name was Andy Gupta). Intellectual looks, mild nature - I was bent to feel as if I, the very first day, found the hook i would grab to get dragged successfully along the upcoming academic tsunami. As time passed, 22g showed his true colors. Every time I wud resort to him to learn XYZ of a subject he wud instead make me tell him ABC. Many a times we wud discuss how FOOLISHLY I took him being an IITian n he took me as a delhi stud. Fortunately the misconceptions vapourized soon and we became well acquainted FUKRAAS... The friendship has since been amicable tom-n-jerry type wid lots of maa-behn (duniya ki) [point to be noted my god...] being consistent to prove oneself the smarter one. The frays have occassionally been physical wrestling with wounds(NEELs) left with the LOSER one (an easy guess :-))The three years(PG, proddh gyan) spent learning to shepherd the torture machine(the infamous PC) did include a lot of fun. Andy met a full lot of accidents during the span, and most of the times i was the culprit :-) Well, we started with our so called, better than nothing, career with OH MY DEAR! Miracle Technologies chd TOGETHER. Everything went cool for a year or so. But then again, he wanted something to feel SUPERIOR! So, he decided to b something wid a RIGHT to scrutinize and brutalize developer's work n life! He got back to delhi and became a QUALITY ANALYST - so the 36 ka aakda still persists!!!
Fortunately we don't work for same company. I m back to my home/delhi as well. We still meet once in every couple of weeks. Andy is a GOOD FRIEND.
(Dedicated to ##th BDAY of Andy)
